A 35-year-old man was recovering from a gunshot wound Tuesday morning after being targeted Monday night while he sat in his car in a parking lot in Rivière-des-Prairies.
Police said a 911 call was received around 9 p.m. reporting that a person had been wounded in a parking lot on 4th St. near Rivière-des-Prairies Blvd.
Officers arriving on the scene found the victim conscious and suffering from a bullet wound to the upper body. He was taken to a hospital and his injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.
Witnesses said the gunman walked up to the victim’s car and opened fire before fleeing in another vehicle that headed south on Rivière-des-Prairies Blvd.
The victim’s car was taken in for analysis.
The victim was not co-operating with investigators.
