COVID-19: Two additional deaths, 32 new cases in Alberta

An additional 32 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Alberta, bringing the province to a total of 6,800.

Data from Alberta Health Services updated Friday afternoon shows an additional two deaths, for a total of 134 across the province.

Of these cases, 865 are active, and 5,801 have recovered. Fifty-four people are in the hospital and six are in intensive care.

There are currently 58 active cases in Edmonton, with 524 cases reported overall. Four-hundred-fifty-three recoveries have been made in the city, and 13 people have died.

To date, health officials have completed 228,793 tests for the disease in Alberta.

Nationally there have been 6,180 fatalities and 1,394,184 cases due to COVID-19. Globally, there have been 4,995,996 confirmed cases including 327,821 deaths as of Friday.
